Here at Two Chairs, we’re on a mission to create a world where everyone has access to exceptional mental healthcare. We started that mission two years ago in San Francisco and have since opened a clinic in Oakland. I’m thrilled to announce that, come September, we will be expanding farther south to serve those looking for therapists in San Jose. Our clinic will be located at 111 N. Market Street in downtown San Jose.
San Jose is one of the largest and most diverse cities in California, and we are building a team to reflect and meet that diversity. Under the leadership of our veteran clinic director, Dr. Zlatena Theodore, PsyD, and like our other clinical teams, the Two Chairs San Jose team will be comprised of expert, diverse, and deeply caring therapists from a variety of backgrounds, lived experiences, and clinical expertise.
As with our other convenient Bay Area locations, we chose the location of our San Jose clinic with proximity to public transit and major freeways in mind. Two Chairs San Jose is located less than a mile from the Caltrain stop at Diridon Station, blocks away from the St. James VTA stop, and just around the corner from the historic San Pedro Square Market.
Inspired by the city’s greenery, frequent sunshine, and nearby foothills, our clinic design team incorporated warm, natural textures and color palettes into the clinic’s bright interior. In an ode to San Jose’s rich history and vibrant culture, our waiting room features books and art that honor the area’s roots and diverse identities.
Two Chairs San Jose is our largest clinic yet, coming in at over 3,000 square feet across nine therapy rooms and two waiting areas. Like our other clinics, our waiting area features thoughtful details like complimentary sparkling water, hot tea, and comfortable seating for use pre-session. Our San Jose therapy location also includes our first, dedicated decompression area. Designed as a space for use post-session, the room features semi-private coves that provide a quiet area to meditate, journal, or pause for a moment of self-care.
