Michael Asuncion
he/him
Michael
is a therapist at Two Chairs.
Michael adamantly believes that despite people’s many differences, at the end of the day, they all want three things: to be seen, heard and valued. His philosophy is that healing is not really about becoming an entirely new, different person, but rather about simply and profoundly coming back to your most authentic self, free of shame or judgment and full of curiosity. He relishes the opportunity to utilize the therapeutic relationship as a safe and brave space in which his clients can improve their relationships with themselves and those around them. He is grateful for the opportunity to meet you and walk beside you for this portion of your honorable journey.
On the life end of the proverbial work–life balance, Michael is an avid appreciator of popular culture and can often be found relishing his favorite movies and TV shows, as well as playing video games and reading. He is a child of the ’90s, through and through, and music is a major presence in his life as he is also a drummer, guitarist and singer. He is also an avid home cook. His love of communal experiences often takes the form of attending concerts and conventions when the budget allows for it. To that end, he has also been to Disneyland—several times.
